President, Dan McRitchie is a local businessman with a passion for helping those in need. He has been performing standup comedy shows for charity for over 20 years. These shows have ranged from a local animal shelter to a benefit for those in need after Superstorm Sandy. Proceeds from these shows have helped those in need throughout the community.
A 1996 graduate of University at Albany, Dan chose insurance sales as a career path, offering personal and commercial insurance to the community. He is the current owner of Pleasant Valley Agency in Pleasant Valley, NY. The agency is also very active in the community, sponsoring various non profit events, as well as local sports teams for children.
Dan is a prior board member of Taconic Resources for Independence, which advocates for those with disabilities in their drive to live independently in the community and to raise awareness to the compliance needed by local businesses to make their locations accessible to all. He has also donated time and resources to the annual Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics. Other charities include Red Cross, New Horizons, March of Dimes, ASPCA, AFSP, Hudson Valley Renegades “Pitch for Kids” program, and the Laughingstock and Foodstock events that benefit the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley.
Dan has been active in the fundraising activities of Water Without Borders for a few years. He has helped with the collection of auction items, sales of food, benefit comedy shows, raffle ticket sales, etc. He looks forward to fundraising opportunities, as well as creating new opportunities for Water Without Borders to grow.
When not busy with insurance or fundraising, Dan can be found enjoying sporting and musical events, or tinkering with new business ideas. He is passionate about all aspects of life and works to create solutions for the problems that are faced daily.
