"Photo of Amanda Sills"Amanda Sills has worked as a Hydro geologist in both industry and government for projects in Mexico, the United States and Canada for over 10 years. Her education includes a Bachelor of Science (2003) and a Master's of Science in Hydrogeology (2006) from the University of Waterloo. She is currently registered as a Professional Geoscientist with the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario. As part of her Masters Research Mrs. Sills completed a portion of her research in Toluca, Mexico to evaluate the impact of a groundwater plume on a nearby municipal supply well. Since graduating from University she has specialized in the evaluation and development of clean and safe Municipal drinking water systems. Ontario has been a world leader in the development of source water protection regulations, helping to ensure the safety of drinking water systems from potential contamination due to a variety of factors including land use. This has been an area that Mrs. Sills has spent the last six years working extensively in. In particular, Mrs. Sills was responsible for the management of four large projects, which evaluated water quantity and quality threats to municipal water supplies over much of Southwestern Ontario. She is excited to bring her knowledge of water supply development and protection to Water without Borders as a board member.
